After my first journalism class my freshman year of
high school, I dreamt of living in New York. It wasn’t long before my thoughts
were consumed with fantasies of being a city girl and all the exciting things I’d
get to see and do. At the time I had never been to New York and despite that
fact, I loved it and wanted it badly. And also in my dreams I saw myself
writing New York Times Best Sellers. But as the year went on, I found another
love. Fashion. Fashion, New York, New York, Fashion. “They kind of go together,”
I thought.
I became obsessed with “New York activities” (for
lack of better words haha). The Met Ball every year, the movie scene, the
writing scene, the people, and most importantly Fashion Week. After so many
years of dreaming of being in the city I was finally able to visit this July.
My long time fantasy of New York life had finally became reality. And let me tell you guys, I was not disappointed. There's so many "loves" in this one post, but it should really tell you how much my heart felt at home. I love the sight of tall buildings and city life, the individuality I see from the locals, the food, the culture. It's like a whole new world there!
I once had a love affair with Dallas, TX but it was completely over once I step foot on the Met steps. New York is a special place, and has won a special place in my heart. Nothing else compares. If I could, I'd be here in a heartbeat.
I will hopefully be coming back this October if I'm accepted into the Teen Vogue University 2013 Seminar! Wish me luck!
Lastly: enjoy these kind of crappy photos with my iPhone!
xx,
I just stumbled across your blog and I really like it. Honesty this is exactly how I felt before I went to NYC and after. I just can't wait to live there (also I want to be a fashion writer so this post is so relevant to my life!) I'll definitely be stopping back to your blog. Is there a way I can follow your blog through my google account? I didn't see that option. Love for you to stop by my blog too! UnderMegsUmbrella!
